FLY Program – ULYP

Program Description

For the Livelihood of Youth (FLY) program is a one-and-a-half-year project to upskill around 150 disadvantage Lebanese and refugees’ youth who are unemployed or underemployed by engaging them in online bootcamps and obtaining certificates (AI, Automation, Web analytics, Cyber Security…etc) along with providing them with job opportunities for job applicants in digital economy.

Program Description 

ULYP provides 157 students scholarships for undergraduate degrees at universities in Lebanon and North Cyprus for Palestinian and Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Courses are in sync with market demand and are in employment sectors where refugees have the right to work. Examples of courses include clinical lab science, radiology, nursing, journalism, and bioinformatics. Universities include; American University of Beirut, Beirut Arab University, American University of Science and Technology, Lebanese American University and East Mediterranean University in Cyprus. The program provides students with career readiness skills and better prepares them for employment and improved livelihoods.

ULYP also provides 64 students with higher diploma scholarships in specializations that are market driven such as physiotherapy, teaching, computing, nutrition and more.

Rainbow Program - ULYP

Program Description ​

Rainbow is a one-year educational program that serves around 150 Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian youth from marginalized refugee communities enrolled in grades 7 and 8. The overall objective of the program is to educate and empower Palestinian and Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese with the academic skills and raised confidence to unlock their potential, continue formal education, and increase their possibilities to qualify for university or vocational degrees to increase their livelihoods.

Change Program - ULYP

Program Description 

Change supports over 300 secondary school students to help them achieve and develop, both academically and personally, to feel confident and prepared for their future. Change addresses the barriers that include lack of counseling services and access to preparatory / bridge programs for refugees. It provides guidance, motivation, and academic support for over 300 11th grade refugee students to stay and succeed in school. It focuses on building the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue post-secondary education and afterwards, employment. Students are also exposed to exam preparation, to date over 80% attained higher grades after the first year. In addition to the academic support, students are exposed to real world skills; such as time management, problem solving, life skills, self-confidence and more. The Change program is implemented in three centers in Beirut, Saida and Mount Lebanon.
