Lojain Al-Hteabat, a resilient Jordanian from AlKarak, embarked on a transformative Micro-works training with DOT Jordan funded by the Abdul Al Aziz Al Ghurair Fund. Her passion for coding and web development flourished during an internship where she crafted a dynamic website for Zaqzouq Muay Thai “Alpha Academy.”
Post-training, Lojain seamlessly transitioned into an ICDL teaching role, but her geographic distance from Amman posed a challenge. Undeterred, she envisions a future where she not only excels in teaching but also thrives as a freelance coder. Her story is a testament to overcoming limitations and transforming challenges into stepping stones toward a future of boundless success. Lojain’s journey inspires us to reach beyond boundaries and embrace the limitless possibilities within our grasp.

Shahad Aladawi

Shahad Aladawi, a Syrian resident in Sahab, Amman, undertook a WordPress training program with DOT Jordan funded by Abdul Al Aziz Al Ghurair Fund, showcasing her skills through websites. During an internship, she successfully developed the website for Zaqzouq Muay Thai’s “Alpha Academy” using WordPress. Post-program, Shahad earned a scholarship at Al-Hussein Technical University for a BSc. in Computer Science, attributing her success to the coaching received. This achievement not only demonstrates her personal triumph but also highlights the program’s impact in enabling youth, like Shahad, to pursue education despite financial constraints. Shahad’s journey serves as an inspiring example of resilience, determination, and the transformative power of education.

Program Description

Career Readiness and Support is a one-year program targeting 600 vulnerable refugees and youth in Jordan who are above 18 and do not have the qualifications to enrol in university to provide them with courses in high market demand in the digital economy leading to employment. The program also includes coaching, mentorship and employment (remote / freelance).
