Wafaa Al Masri, a determined learner from Gaza, pursued her education despite significant challenges. Frequent electricity outages and unstable internet made online learning difficult, yet she remained committed to growing professionally.

Through a partnership with the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund and Luminus Technical University College, Wafaa accessed structured learning, skilled instructors, and a supportive environment that allowed her to continue her studies despite the surrounding instability.

Throughout the program, Wafaa actively collaborated on team projects, built meaningful connections, and strengthened both her technical skills and confidence.

“Despite the challenges around me, this program gave me hope, knowledge, and a sense of belonging. I am deeply grateful to the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund for making this life-changing opportunity possible,” she shares.

Today, Wafaa continues her education and applies her skills with resilience and determination, inspired by the opportunities made possible through the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund and Luminus.

Hassan Alqadri’s Journey into Technology

Hassan Al Qadri

Hassan Alqadri received a JavaScript training scholarship from Luminus Technical University College through the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund. Despite facing physical challenges, he was determined to grow in technology and build a future rooted in digital skills.

Before the program, Hassan had only basic JavaScript knowledge and limited exposure to structured, hands-on learning. The scholarship gave him access to practical exercises, guided projects, and continuous mentorship, creating an inclusive environment where he could thrive.

Through the course, Hassan mastered DOM manipulation, ES6 concepts, and real-world project development, strengthening his problem-solving skills, discipline, and confidence.

“This scholarship didn’t just teach me JavaScript—it opened a new door in my life and gave me the confidence to pursue a career in technology,” he shares.

Today, Hassan continues to expand his skills, laying the foundation for a promising tech career, made possible through the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund and Luminus Technical University College.

Through their Education4Employment (E4E) model, LMNS offers market-driven, accredited training programs ranging from short courses to bachelor’s degrees. They prioritize employer engagement to tailor programs to job-market needs, achieving a 70% job placement rate (over 90% in ICT sectors) since 2016. LMNS focuses on inclusivity, supporting vulnerable youth including females and refugees, with over 26,000 scholarships awarded. Program Description

The “Green Skills for Youth: Today’s Job Security and Tomorrow’s Suitable Careers” program in Jordan provides disadvantaged adolescents (ages 16-35) with market-relevant vocational training in ICT, as well as Electric and Hybrid Automotive Technology. Participants are prepared for meaningful employment by integrating technical skills with soft skills, including English language competence, career preparation, and circular economy training. This comprehensive approach combines peer-to-peer mentorship, hands-on project-based learning, and job placement assistance, ensuring that 70% of graduates find work.

It focuses on education to employment and engages with employers from the onset through to job placements. Luminus addresses the current mismatch of skills in the labour market. Luminus continuously updates its curricula and offers new courses based on labour market demand 

Program Description ​

Supporting over 1,650 refugees and vulnerable Jordanians to access and complete certified diplomas and certificates in specializations identified as opportunities for employment in the labour market. Every student receives soft skills, digital readiness, career readiness and English language skills. 80% of students will be placed in employment and tracked for a year following graduation.
