About SEWAR

Sewar Organization (Kalkınma Şafak Derneği) is a Syrian non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing the social, economic, and political empowerment of vulnerable communities affected by conflict and displacement. Since its establishment, Sewar has implemented multi-sectoral programs in empowerment, peacebuilding, recovery, and emergency response, with a strong track record in vocational training, market-linked livelihoods programming, and partnerships with international donors such as UNDP, IOM, JVC, Foundation de France, EFI, and SIDA. Our mission is to enable vulnerable populations, especially women and youth access dignified economic opportunities and participate fully in rebuilding stronger, more resilient communities.

Program Description

As part of the Learning to Earning program, SEWAR will deliver certified vocational training in high-demand construction and finishing trades, including carpentry, blacksmithing and welding, tiling, electrical installation, plumbing and sanitary installation, painting, ceramics, and lathe operation. Designed to support market-linked livelihoods for vulnerable communities, the program will be delivered through a formal partnership with the reconstruction industry, aligning training with identified labour market demand and employer hiring needs to strengthen participants’ pathways into employment.
