Omar Al-Farah

At 23 years old, Omar Al-Farah is a dedicated and ambitious electrical power engineering graduate from Al Hussein Technical University. Always striving to grow, he never settles and constantly seeks new knowledge.

Before joining the German Energy Academy, Omar recognized a gap in his practical knowledge, despite a strong theoretical foundation. While interning at a company that had recently launched an Energy Management department, he felt the pressing need to deepen his expertise in energy efficiency. Aware of the growing demand for skilled professionals in this field, Omar knew he had to act quickly to stay competitive. The German Energy Academy presented itself as the perfect opportunity to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements.

Omar’s decision to join the academy proved transformative. Its comprehensive program covered a wide range of topics essential to the energy market, especially the critical role of energy efficiency in the industrial sector. The combination of classroom learning and hands-on industry exposure provided invaluable insights. Omar expressed deep appreciation for the academy’s support, crediting its materials, training, and exceptional trainers for equipping him with both theoretical understanding and practical expertise. These experiences prepared him to tackle real-world challenges in the energy sector with confidence.

One of Omar’s most significant experiences at the academy was participating in industry projects, such as energy audits at Nutridar and Dar Al Dawa. These hands-on opportunities allowed him to apply his knowledge in real industrial settings, build connections with professionals in the field, and gain a deeper understanding of energy management’s practical demands. This exposure also gave him the confidence to pursue a role in the Energy Management Systems (EMS) sector.

After completing the program, Omar returned to his former internship company, Kawar Energy, as a full-time Business Development Engineer. The technical and soft skills he gained—ranging from energy efficiency and report writing to teamwork and communication—greatly enhanced his performance and positioned him as a rising talent. He shared that the course not only deepened his understanding of a growing market but also broadened his personal and professional horizons. Omar strongly recommends the German Energy Academy to other fresh graduates, praising its supportive environment and the dedication of its staff. Through its partnership with Al Hussein Technical University and support from the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund, the academy offers more than just education—it provides a competitive edge in the energy sector, helping graduates like Omar build successful, sustainable careers.
