Relief International (RI) conducted a rapid assessment with 481 households in Azraq Refugee Camp. 85% had access to internet through a smart phone, but 60% had connectivity challenges. The most prevalent online modality was WhatsApp at 92% alongside 92% stated they finish their internet bundles’ data limit due to financial constraints. RI designed their online learning accordingly to provide virtual remedial education classes during the lockdown. They focus on supporting and improving students’ academic achievement and prepping 12th grade students for exams. Online remedial education classes include core subjects: Arabic, English, Math and physics. Classes are complementary to the Government’s online platform ‘darsak’. RI tracks attendance, needs and learning through established WhatsApp groups.
